Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
Anything typed into a search box on this site goes directly to the outside company that runs that tool. The partner processes the request and returns the results. Search terms entered in those boxes are not stored or logged on our side.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you send an email, the message is kept so it can be answered. It stays inside our team and is not passed to anyone outside the organization unless a legal obligation requires it.
Data We Gather Automatically
Each time a page loads, the servers behind the site record routine technical details about the visit:
- The IP address assigned to the device you used
- The browser you are running and its version
- The type of device and its operating system
- Which pages you opened and how long each one stayed on screen
- The referring site, when one sent you here
- A timestamp for every page view
Cookies and Analytics
This site uses cookies, which are small files placed on your device. They show which pages draw traffic and where readers lose interest, and analytics services help turn that activity into aggregate numbers. Your browser settings can block cookies at any time, though some parts of the site may behave differently once they are blocked.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping the site online and loading quickly
- Passing a search request to the partner that handles it
- Seeing which pages are useful and which need work
- Finding and fixing technical problems
- Placing advertising that may relate to your interests
No Warrant Data on File
This site does not collect, host, or sell databases of warrants or personal warrant-record information. It publishes general guidance about how Stearns County warrant records are held and how to reach the offices that keep them, including Stearns County District Court, the Sheriff's Office, and the city departments that write citations. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and nothing gathered about visitors is turned into a consumer report about anyone.
Third-Party Search Partners
Search boxes on these pages run on software from outside companies. What you type there is handled under the partner's privacy policy rather than this one, and those partners decide how long they keep data and who else sees it. We have no control over their practices, so read their policy before submitting a search.
Links to Other Websites
This site links to court portals, sheriff and county pages, state statutes, and outside search tools. Following one of those links takes you off this site, and the destination's own privacy policy then applies to your visit. Read that policy before sharing personal details.
Advertising partners may also track activity across sites to target their ads. That tracking happens on their systems, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Some information can reach:
- Search partners that handle queries you run here
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Ad networks that serve advertising on these pages
- Government or law enforcement bodies when a valid legal order requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
Standard security practices are used to protect the information described here. No website connected to the internet is completely safe, and we cannot promise that a breach will never happen. What we can do is limit what is collected in the first place and store it carefully.
Users Under 18
This site is written for adults. Personal information from anyone under 18 is not knowingly collected. If you believe a minor has sent data to this site, contact us and it will be deleted.
Your Data Rights
Where you live can change the rights you hold over your data. The Minnesota Government Data Practices Act, Minnesota Statutes section 13.03 governs how Minnesota agencies handle government data, and it gives the public the right to inspect public data and to receive copies at actual cost. At a minimum, this site will honor these requests:
- Ask what information about you is held here
- Have inaccurate information corrected
- Request that your data be erased
- Opt out of certain kinds of processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy can change as the site changes. When it does, the revised version appears on this page with a new effective date, so check back if you want to follow how visitor information is handled.
